'17 2500 with fisher plow and issue with bumper trim

I'm curious if anyone else has installed a fisher plow on their truck and what they did with the bumper valance. They notched mine to allow the mounts to come out but now the center part that the plate connects too just hangs from the top with 6 screws and I feel like it feels cheap and flimsy now. I see Boss plow makes a new valance piece but not sure if it would work with the fisher set up or not. What has anyone else done? I don't have any pictures of it today but will get some tomorrow and add to show exactly what I mean.

PS, where did you buy your truck? I'm down in Maine in the fall each year & last fall I saw a couple of identical regular cabs to mine @ Hilltop in Rochester & Plymouth Chev.

Thanks I would appreciate that! I see that make two different models from Boss and I'm thinking the one I keep looking at would work as it seems to sit pretty high. As far as buying the truck I bought it at Quirk Chevy in Manchester as I have a friend that works over there. Hilltop is just a few hundred yards from the Tire Warehouse store that I manage.

im thinking about putting a plow on a 2017 hd 2500. every place i call says that they just take the valance off. you have to make your own filler.if you have a snow plow pep package , i think gm should make one for you. dont they think what it will look like without the valance. why buy a hd truck if your not going to use it. can you see when the plow is all the way up? on my old 2004 you could see the top of the plow. now with the hood so high how do you see anything.

So i noticed my valance was flimsy and also notice a straight line across my plate from plow being on and the middle of the flimsy valance was flapping off plow frame causing a line imprint across plate and some of plastic valance, i remember seeing a bracket in the back seat when i bought truck and had dealer install fisher plow i thought nothing of it until now, i looked at a friends identical truck with fisher plow etc his valance was solid and not flimsy and that bracket i had sittin the the back was cut down and installed on my buddy's truck. I just cut the bracket and waiting to install... if this means anything to you.. good luck

Sorry about the night shot (and the dirty truck).

 

The black plastic visible behind the bumper filler is the 'engine splash guard'. I know when I removed the OEM air dam that there was an 'H' shaped brace behind it. I can see if it was removed it would cause the air dam to be quite flimsy. I had been looking @ removing the air dam soon after I got the truck. Looking @ it's design & the bracing I had given up coming up w/ a rework that was feasible.

This looks like it could work worst case I could see the spot right under the tow hook having a very tight fit but I think it would solve my problem. Did you install this yourself? I read it requires removing the grill and bumper is that correct? Thanks for the picture.

Yes i cut those end pieces off... cut right up too the 2nd screw in on both sides..fits like a glove with fisher mounts
