tmo Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I have been toying with the idea of a muffler system that can divert around the muffler when flooring it. Kinda like on the Camaros and I think Corvettes. In my mind It would go like this... putting a cutoff in front of all the mufflers right after the cats with another flapper valve that would go just straight back that would open when flooring it or manually opening it to divert it. Any ideas or thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heavy 5.7 Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 While running a V-6? I'm afraid it would just make it more obvious it's not going anywhere, best to just keep it on the down low. If you want something that sounds like a Corvette why not just buy one?
O_J_Simpson Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Do-able but you bought the wrong truck for this mod.
tmo Posted March 16, 2017 Author Posted March 16, 2017 Yes I understand the v6 is a less than ideal engine for this, but being a college student and only towing 1 time in the 2 years that I've had the truck, I don't need anything else. I actually regret not getting a crew cab more than a v8. Anyways I'm not looking for more sound all the time that's why I don't want to replace my stock system. I like the quiet, but it would be nice to have a little bit more rasp sometime... mainly when playing the who has the smaller wang game. The video below I think the guy straight piped it and it doesn't sound bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
diyer2 Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Sorry to rain on your parade. Might be more beneficial for you to concentrate on school. Exhausted Mod?
