Your pit is probably correct, same way my dealer says that being able to shake my front driveshaft around in the T-case is normal, on a 6500 mile 2017. Joke's on them when I grenade that SOB. Any time a seal blows separating oil and coolant there is the possibility that both will mix; during engine running pressure gradient pushes oil into the coolant, but after shut off, pressure gradient wants to push coolant into the oil.

Sure enough. Dealer called back and said no issues found. Said he put it next to a truck with 3 miles on it and it sounded exactly the same. At a point now where I dont really know what to do. It has 6 year 100k powertrain so if something did happen it would likely show itself sooner rather than later.

The other thing is to take the "we are not comfortable with this big of issue two weeks into owning the truck" and try to get them to take the truck back.

This sucks.

Do what I plan to do with mine: "force" an issue to appear sooner than later.

Did the dealer drain and flush the crankcase and replace the filter? They certainly should have. I'd do it myself, because I've yet to find a dealer service department or service tech better equipped to perform a service than myself. At least then you can see what comes out.

I'd just drive it, if it blows up it's covered. If it's going to blow up it'll probably happen sooner rather than later if something is really wrong.

Yeah, that is what we decided. I am keeping all service records and noting all the conversations I had with them during this process. What they said was wrong, what they said was ok, what they said did or didnt happen and who told me what. That way if something does happen I have all of it documented on who told me what on which day.

That's probably the best plan you can have at this point

What was the diagnosis and solution to your oil in coolant? I have same year and model as you and found the sludge under my truck today, oil in coolant and low on oil.

I am having the same issue, oil in the coolant on a 2016 5.3 Silverado LTZ 1500 4x4. The truck has 53,500 miles on it. Dealership can't find the problem. They flush the system, replace the antifreeze, add oil to the crankcase and tell me to drive it for a 1000 miles. I drive it about 10 miles and the coolant reservoir is full of what looks like coffee with a lot of cream in it. It is back to the dealership for the third time. The first two times, they couldn't find the problem. The third time the service manager said they would have to "dig a little deeper". I am not very happy right now. I love the truck but I'm not sure if I want to keep it.
