I'm looking at a used 2002 2500HD, I was wondering if anyone had some inpiut as to nagging problem's, likes, dislikes.

Get the 8.1 it rocks.....besides that there is nothing that I can think of that I really dislike about it, other than the gas milage, but I was worried about that I would have gotten a Prius. Oh I thought of a dislike, there are only 3 power outlets in the whole thing. 3 up front none in the back (that I have found)...make for messy cords if you throw an electric cooler in the backseat for those long drives. Other than that I have no real complaints

only complaint is the 6.0L. I should have gotten the 8.1L

The engine is a 6.0, power feels okay to me, better than my 5.7 in my 1999 K-1500. My concerns were the csk, trans, etc.

Everything about it rocks, just make sure you get XM radio, it RULES! You can get XM radio aftermarket with an external glass mounted antenna. and I wish there were AC and heat vents in the back. I have the bench seat, and I dont know if the buckets come with the vents in back or not with the center console. Would be nice for the backseat passengers.

Nice! I dont know what I would like better, buckets or bench. I kinda like the fold down center console, because when its up there is lots of room for another person. But those rear vents would be sweet!!

It should be a good truck. The only commen problem is the CSK. Run it by your favorite dealer and pay for a pre purchase inspection. The inspection should include a report with all dealer repairs, incuding if it was brought in for CSK.

While you have it at the dealer, go talk to the fleet salesmen. I bet you can get a new one for the same (or near) the used one with full warenty. The only problem unique to the '03s is the pressure switch in the ac. I have 12500 miles. I had it replaced for the second time today.

You will be happy with the 6.0l under the following conditions. You don't tow loads near the weight limit often. You don't tow that load in the mountains. I have towed over 6000lbs thru the TX Hill County (not mountains) and didn't feel underpowered in the least bit.

I had the fold down center console in my 01 Silverado and hated it. To open it you have to lift your arm straight up and around. The bucket console is more suitable for driving. When I got my new GMC, buckets were a priority.

All-in-all I'm pretty happy with my truck (the dealer is been another story entirely though). I have the CSK, as do most to some degree, but other then a few little things I really wouldn't change a lot. So far, it's been a nice truck.

Ours has been great. Gets 15 mpg with a 6.0 and 4.10's. Good power and no problems with 60k miles.

I my only complaint with our 6.0 is with the transmission shifting.

It just does not feel right.

Our 6.0 with 60k miles is quiet as a mouse but the 5.3 has been knock-knocking since 20k.

I love my truck wishing I got a diesel but ohh well. I have the 6.0 that everybody slams and I pull the hell out of that motor and it just keeps coming. So until the 6.0 lets me down I think it's the next 350cid motor for GM.
