Detuned (Hypertech), back to stock tune

Short of it, had posted prior that had installed regular fuel tune, but found I had to run a mix of 87 and 92 octane or could hear detonation at WOT. Truck was unusually low on fuel (1/8 tank), filled up with regular, pinging was right back. Even with knock sensors, motor shouldn't detonate, which means it's right on the ragged edge of detonating most of the time, that's not healthy.. I think fuel quality just varies too much, so back to stock it went. Only mods installed are deactivate AFM and adjusted tire height for 32" tires. Have to be honest, can't really say I noticed any difference with or without.

Anyone have similar experience?

What else did you adjust (or did you just use the canned tune)? I adjusted every parameter possible and am pleased. As I've said in other posts, it's not as impressive as a full custom tune but I def see some nice little gains that have made the truck more responsive

First install, used premium fuel tune. That definitely made a difference but found it also had slight pinging at WOT on occasion so backed if down to regular fuel tune. Other than that, increased trans shifts by 25% firmness and lowered shift points by 300 rpm.
