Center console usb problems

My usb works and charges my phone but I'm not able to use it for music ? I've loaded music onto a Micro Sd and it works ! But isn't it supposed to load my music on usb ? I might be completely wrong, btw I have a Samsung s7 edge.

Make sure the usb is only 32g or less, it won't recognize anything bigger. My 2015 chevy colorado had no problems reading 64g of music, but chevy informed me 32 was max for the silverado. Sounds crazy, but i had to split the 64 into 2 seperate 32's and they work fine. Nuts....

Am I supposed to be able to plug my phone usb into port and be able to listen to music ? That's what I'm going for and it's not working. :/

I've noticed if it's not the native music folder then it can have issues playing music. I run iOS. Rarely have issues but it hiccups every now and then but just unplugging it solves it for me. USB sticks sometimes don't load up for me either.

Maybe check the sound settings on your phone. I know the android platform is a lot more open to being customized than iOS.

I've noticed on mine that the center console USBs will charge my iPhone 7+, play MP3s from a thumb drive, BUT will NOT access the internet thru my phone. Had the same problem with my iPhone 6+, wife's, daughter's and son's phones. Really annoying, when I like listening to Pandora all the time. I'd like to get rid of the charge cables that are plugged into the front USBs.

My iphone 6s and 7 worked no problem, 14' silverado, but the galaxy s8 doesn't read in there. It charges but doesn't connect for music. It will play thru bluetooth but the sound quality is terrible. I am very dissapointed with this. Maybe I will call the dealer and see if there is an update or something. Don't think so....
