Pitman arm disconnected 99 1500 4x4, where to start?

I think the main bolt is the only thing that snapped through the pitman arm and the ball and joint under the zerk fitting. What to do from here? Is it possible to just replace one bolt to fix or will I be replacing the whole pitman arm or even the steering box, anybody been through this willing to share the story? I sure would appreciate a few words of wisdom.

You need to replace the Pitman arm,not a particularly difficult job for someone who's done it before but for someone who's never replaced one it can be tough.Get it to a shop you trust and have them do it if you have any doubts.

Thank you Grampadirt for reply, think I'll watch a couple more videos then crawl under there a couple more times and see where my confidence level is after a bit more investigation, it looks pretty straight forward but I know how that can end up. If in doubt I will take your advise and call the pitman arm guy in. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. -Spud-

You're welcome, glad to help.BTW,if your pitman arm has never been changed and is OEM it's probably on there pretty good. The first time I replaced mine I took the entire gearbox out to make it easier to use the puller,I swear I thought I was going to break the puller but with a little luck & persistence it finally came off.
