HELP! - Rear Wheel Cylinders (Brakes)

I will say that OEM wheel cylinders should last longer than 2 years and 30K miles.

On my 2011 the brake cylinder broke when taking the drum off. It was unavoidable because of the shoes wearing into drum. It's possible the same happened to them when they went to take the drums off.

I did notice when I took the tires off to check the drums that there was a splatter look on the back of the tires (the side facing the frame of the truck) that looked like fluid. They said the brake fluid resivor was only half full so I'm assuming it may have leaked from the drum onto the dish of the rim and then splattered onto the tires when driving. So I think they must have been busted before.

If is is brake fluid, a wheel cylinder is bad most likely

The splatter on the back of the tires could be brake fluid, or gear lube from an axle seal leaking.
