Hyper tech tune question

Ok so I bought an 05 z71 with the l33 5.3. I notice in the door jamb there's a hyper tech sticker and I was wonder how I figure what tune it is, what it's for and it what gas grade it was used for. Thanks

Maybe others know something I don't but I'm not aware of a way to tell what tune is in there.. If any. I would go to the dealer and have the computer reflashed to stock if it was me. Then install my own tune or get a custom tune.

If you dont set the tune back to stock the tuners are married to the truck. best bet is whoever had it set it back to stock before selling it. if you've been running 87 and haven't had any pinging its definitely not a higher octane tune but like I said my bet would be it was set back to stock before it was sold

After a couple fill ups Of 87 it did the pinging but on at hard acceleration. I filled up with 0 ethanol and it seems just fine lol

I run an 87 tune from superchips and don't get any pinging on 87 even with ethanol.id be a bit worried that its set on a higher octane tune since it does ping. Worst part about it if that's the case, it's usually not cheap to have gm set it back to stock. If it's not stock you can't take a chance on running another tuner either because,it would modify a non stock tune which more than likely would push engine parameters into more dangerous levels
