swap 2015 grill for 2016 grill

I had a guy interested in swapping my 2015 GMC Denali grill for his 2016 Z71 Grill.

I did put trucks side by side.. and looks as if its a perfect fit... but without ripping everything apart we don't know if it will fit.

 

Anyone have experience with doing this.

No not a direct swap unless you take his bumper as well.

would need to do an entire front ends swap (if that's even possible). Hood, fenders headlights, bumper etc.

Easy swap. Just have to swap the bumper and surrounding body parts too.

Hood and fenders are the same 2014-2018 on GMC 1500. People have swapped the headlights from a 2016-2018 on to 2014-2015 trucks without a front end swap so the headlights should be okay.

 

The bottom dimensions of the grille are the varying point in conjunction to the bumper, hence wanting a 2016 grille on a 2015 will require a bumper swap.

im sorry is the OP talking about 2 sierras? I was under the assumption he meant a sierra and a silverado. Z71 does nothing to change appearance on the Sierra besides fender emblems no? not worth mentioning if that's the case so it threw me off.

Perfect. Thank you. Figured the hood was the same. He has a blue truck. Sooo will keep my eyes out and see what I can find out there online to do bumper lights grille swap.

Funny! I saw your confusion right away. My last Sierra was a Z71 but never referred to this as the model. To me, it was a SLE!
