Transmission bang

So I've been home for 3 days now. I've driven the truck about 60 miles, freeway and surface streets. Only had one occurrence of gear banging and that was day 1. I had a friend look over the vehicle and he agrees that changing the solenoids is an easy fix and should change my situation. He is going to take it out with a diagnostic machine and drive it to duplicate the bang and get the readings to verify his suspicions. He had a similar issue with his 2006 Sierra 2500 and the solenoid went tits up. He suggests changing both as I'll already be in there. I am grateful to all who have responded. It gave me a good starting point. I'll repost when I get the results. Happy 4th.
