I have a 2002 Silverado 1500HD and a 2005 Tahoe that both need Hydroboosters replaced due to leaks. They appear to be the same type with the Tahoe having a sight glass. Anyone know the difference and if they're interchangeable? There is a significant price difference between them.

Buy a seal kit online for $12 bucks. Rebuild takes less then 5mins.

 

You can swap any hydroboost unit from the GMT800 platform if you go that route.

As stated before, you can rebuild them with a simple kit. Its usually a seal inside a bore and easy to r&r. You could also replace them with an upgraded unit from a 2011 truck, pn 1780853 (20940394) for $200
