Looking for Center Console (or swap for jump seat) Dayton, OH area

More than I wanted to spend! But it is what it is. I've really wanted one, so once it's in I'll forget about the price. Time to go read up on that extraordinarily long thread on how to instal it. Do you know, looking at that one I bough if it has the front mounting bracket? Getting the extra USBs etc hooked up may turn into a bigger challenge than I'm ready for. My electrical know how is about 0...may just have to plug in what I already have with the jump seat and mess with it later on, or find someone who knows what they're doing!

The day after I bought mine he listed one for $275.00 with free shipping but as with you I'm just happy to have one coming! From my reading on the swap thread it looks like its pretty easy to hook up the 110v, 12v socket and usbs inside the compartment but the front usbs are not so easy. (not an issue for me as I only need 1 for my music hard drive and one for my phone. Almost forgot, I messaged the seller after buying mine to ask if the front bracket was included and he said it was along with a bag of hardware!

Did you get yours yet? Mine came last week with all hardware as promised and took a few hours to install but was pretty easy to figure out once I got going!

My picture shrunk for some reason so you can't see much however there are a few betters pics of the console in regular cabs on the thread above.

Mine arrived the other day at my other residence. Going over later on today to attempt to install it. Will let ya know!

Excellent and once you get in there you'll see it's not to hard, just a bit time consuming!

Mine didn't seem to come with the front bracket.....hm.

Going to install anyway and see how secure the front is without it. If it is bad, I'll order one and tear it down again.

Thats a drag. My bracket was wrapped in bubble wrap and inside rhe large comparment with all of the hardware. BTW, another member posted in the other thread that he installed his without the front bracket and it was still solid.

Here's a quick shot. All installed. Didn't do anything fancy, 12v, 110v up front work, everything under lid works, spliced rear 12v into jump seat harness, along with the center compartment light. May go back and jump other front 12v into the one next to it, but I can't see myself using all of that....just kinda bugs me it and the front USB ports don't work.

Also, yeah I was relieved once it was bolted down how secure it feels without the front bracket. Seems very solid. Happy so far!

Looks fantastic and glad its solid without the bracket! You mentioned you tapped into the constant 12v for the compartment light so Im guessing it only comes on when the lid opens? (I didn't see an obvious switch anywhere)

I'm thinking about doing to upgrade but it seems you lose a lot of storage space and in a reg cab, thats not good.

You lose the floor in front of the jump seat but the compartment in the rear is much larger and there is a deep compartment in the front as well. Main thing I figured I lost was the ability to have a third passenger however that is not important to me since that seat has only been sat in once by my wife when I first got the truck and she said it was extremely uncomfortable anyway!

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
