I bought a JL powerwedge 12" awhile back. I see boxes online that fit under the rear seat. How do i know which one i need?

The powerwedge has built in amp to the box already. So ill probably just cut out on the side and screw the amp in like the current box.

Ill get amp numbers when im home.

Need help figuring which box would be ideal.

Have your sub first, and just match the box to the sub specs and you'll be fine.

Just match it up with your year and cab configuration as the floors are shaped differently.

I found a guy in Instagram that makes custom boxes that fit perfect and look bad ass. I don't have one personally but you could check him out. IG name- Nameluss

Just the diameter size match? I heard theres specific cubic inches needed do they supply those specs?

So any box online that matches year and cab works?

You'll obviously need the diameter to match. 8, 10, 12, 15 etc. The airspace is what is critical. If you don't have a box that's big enough, it will choke out the sub and it'll sound like crap. My sub called for 1.1-1.3CF, so I build my box right around 1.2CF or so.

Most of the prefab boxes have little CF, so just be sure that your sub matches. There are a lot of options for shallow subs that require little airspace.

If the box is too small you can also stuff it with matting. It tricks the sub into thinking there's more space and you get a little better sound/performance out of it. JL Audio subs generally don't require a lot of space, I ran a JL 8w3 in my Tahoe for years in the stock sub enclosure in the rear and it sounded like a good 10 or even 12 inch sub. I'm planning on putting it in my truck now as soon as I can get enough time to build something for it. I don't want it under the rear seat, I like my storage.

Thank you both I'll try to get some factory specs on my setup soon through JL so I can match a box. I love this little 10" it had so much kick it shakes the truck, it gets overpowering at times but 1000% better than the 8" that felt like a factory stock speaker :nonod:
