2017 Silverado 1500 o2 sensor/ Throttle body acutuator issue

Hi everyone,

 

I'm new to the forum and looking get some feed back and to share some difficulties I've experienced with my 2017 Silverado 1500 Z71.

 

I purchased my truck new late this January and within a month I got a check engine light for all o2 sensors. I took it to my local dealer and was told the sensors were faulty and that they had swapped them out.

 

2 months later I get the same codes, all o2 sensors were acting up. Dealer just replaced once again.

 

Around 2 months later, the same code reappeared, but now with a code for the throttle body actuator module.

I took it in once again and they got their GM rep involved; reprogrammed my computer, swapped out sensors and called it a day.

 

A week later the same issue happened. This time they said my throttle body was faulty, so they replaced the whole assembly.

 

Now, my truck got the same code for the 5th time, I took it in again but to a different dealership and now have been told that they will no longer repair this problem because my vehicle is in the process for the lemon law ( via lawyer hired ) and because the primary dealership that has been working on it has yet to find the issue.

 

Now I'm stuck with paying for a truck that I can't use until this process is done.

 

Summing things up,

 

Anyone that has had this experience with their truck? If so, what has been the outcome?

Those in Texas that have dealt with the lemon law process; how long did it take for you to get a response back?

Have you started a claim with GM directly?

 

I've seen it take a week from the initial claim, to the day before the proceeding. Be patient and document everything.

I've read other cases on here that once litigation is initiated, they will no longer chase any issues. It's sounds like you have a good case for the lemon law. Is the truck not running at all? Why can't you use it?

The truck reads " Engine power reduced " when starting. Sometimes it will bog out on its own and it's a pretty violent shake in that process.

I just had this issue with mine. 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500.  Lost all engine power and was told two of my O2 sensors went. They said I must have got a bad batch of fuel. I don't drive it much, but the whole system came crashing down because of sensors to the point I couldn't drive it. Engine lost all power and just bogged down. I did put some old fuel in it a while back (6 months old with stabilizer)  and then filled up with premium.  Won't be doing that again anytime soon.  But I had the same issue.
