Window and door lock problems

I recently purchased a 2000 Silverado 2500(6.0). The passenger side window didn't work, so I purchased a new motor and regulator. I installed them and now the motor works, but about halfway up the window stops and wont go any higher unless I help it by hand. Any ideas what could be causing it?

Check for broken wires in the door loom?

I would check for binding in Window and/or mechanism, or perhaps the wires getting pinched.
