C-10 ball joint install

I'm installing new upper and lower ball joints on my 1968 C-10. I'm not sure my spring compressor will shorten spring enough to get ball joint nuts started.

 

I can't use my floor jack to push lower control arm up. Motor cab off no so no weight and jack will just pick truck up.

 

Any ideas?

Are you using the threaded type spring compressor, rent a second set from autozone and use them to compress it even more ? You could buy lowering springs for like $100.
