factory all terrain tires in winter?

My truck, (non-Z71 4x4) came with Goodyear LS2's. They were so terrible in rain, I was afraid to wait for the snow to fall. I thought about getting a mild all terrain but wanted the ultimate in all conditions traction. I put stock size Duratracs on my truck. Zero regrets.

I would not recommend the SR-A's for a VT winter. Or pretty much any scenario that involves them being on a vehicle.

For me, as far as winter tires, traction on ice is far more important than snow traction. A 4WD should get around in average snow all day without any problems, even with 4 bald tires. Stopping and steering on ice is what's important and this is where you need to invest. I look for tires with winter temp compounds and lots of sipes and edges to grip the ice. I don't stud my tires but if I was driving a 2WD again I probably would.
