Higher than normal rpm

I have a 5.3 6 speed trans and have noticed a slightly higher rpm while in 6th gear. Gas mileage is suffering also, I use to average 23-24 mpg cruising at 65-70 mph. My rpm in 6 gear use to be steady at 1200-1350 rpm now it’s up to 1750-1800, what would cause this a bad torque converter? Thanks trying to figure it out before I call the dealership.

Yes I put it in manual 5th gear then switched to 6th, I’m thinking it’s the torque converter not locking.
