Trying to perform fuel pressure check on 97 Yukon 5.7. Is there a special fitting required to tap the Schrader valve on the fuel rail? Not sure my cheapo Harbor Fright test rig has what I need.

Make sure the hose on your HF guage has something in the center to push in the core on the Schrader valve. If you get no reading you could temporarily remove the core and hook up the hose to get a reading. I think most gm fuel rails on those years trucks use the standard valve. I don't remember having to use any special adapters or anything to ck fuel pressure.

Thanks all for replies. Turns out it was my cheapie test unit. Got a better kit and it had the correct fitting. Time to change the pump...  -_-
