My 2005 Chevy Silverado won't 'pass' inspection

I am so aggravated, my Chevy Silverado will NOT PASS inspection, I've gone back to shop 7 times with check engine light on, and had $700 worth of repairs, and it still won't pass!  Driven over 100 miles [3/4 tank] after last repair [distributor] and no go, but light is off and no signs of trouble, but it's 'not ready' It's been overdue for 2 mo. and nothing will make it pass!  I spent $3000 last year on it!!  Ready to give up!

Um, first, you truck doesn't have a distributor.  Assuming it's gas, it has fuel injection and individual coils for each plug, and the ecm controls when the plugs fire.

Second, what exactly is preventing your truck from passing inspection?
