2002 Avalanche 4WD

Hey y’all

My big red that I use to fill my feeders @ my camp had an interesting situation happen.

First, I thought I had a hung up caliper and had some burn/heat coming from the left rear wheel.

Seemed to loosen up as I felt the wheels were free ?

Next thing a bit later on and possibly totally unrelated, my big square info center light on the dash says service 4WD. All the 4WD lights to switch from 2WD to 4 low, 4 high or auto 4 WD went blank.

I got to thinking maybe I had a leak ? Truck was still driving well. Did not try to drop it in 4WD after that, and dumped it off to a local mechanic to get diagnosed.

I’m not sure if it’s a sensor and a hung caliper or something strictly 4WD.

He’s afraid he doesn’t have the equipment diagnose it so I’m thinking send it to the Chevy dealer.

Anyone have this service 4WD light come on and what did you find wrong ?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
