Park Assist Wont stay off

Hi Newbie here, patience please. 2016 sierra 1500 slt 20k miles. I disable park assit thru personalization. It turns off, but if I turn off vehicle and turn on, park assist is enabled in personalization. Nothing blocking rear or front, vehicle is clean. I just got the vehicle last week.

Any suggestions. I call my gmc, said I was doing everything to turn off, should call dealer.

Are you saying you are getting the alarm that you are going to hit something?

The park assist in my '14 automatically turns on when I restart the vehicle. I sometimes get false obstructions in the winter when there is ice.

Strange.  Perhaps a trip to the dealer may be in order if the vehicle isn't recognizing the fact you not just hit the button, but went into personalization and turned it off.  When you changed the setting in personalization, did you do it with the truck running, or the engine off and key in the run position?

I can manually turn off. I tried with the vehicle running and key in run position and it does the same. Goes off and if I restart or turn key to run position its back on.

Any update here? I have a new rear bumper and it has a spot for tow shackles that interfere with the signal...
