Was thinking about putting one on on my truck but dont want to be annoyed by it on long hauls.  I have a 6” lift and 35’s so the motor/trans is working more than a stock truck. I had one on my 2013 f150 with the 5.0 and i couldnt notice a power difference but the noise from it would get annoying from time to time. I live in western PA so i’m up and down hills all day long.  I have a magnaflow exhaust and a tune from flashpaq in the truck now.  If i knew i would feel the difference by putting one on i could deal with the noise. Wonder If anyone could feel i power gain by putting one on.

I have the Airaid CAI on my 16 Sierra 6.2. When the testing was done it was either 1-2 in the most amount of gains of all the CAI kits out there. I can say this the growl isnt too bad, it is noticeable if you stay in the throttle constantly but realistically it isnt bad most of the time.

I have the Airaid MIT with a drop in K&N into a modified stock box and it's not annoying at all

The air box on a 5.3 and a 6.2 are he same.  On both both boxes there is a piece that seals the box against the fender and has the air inlet opening This piece is different between the 6.2 and the 5.3.  The 6.2 has an extra opening. You could take that piece out and cut out the extra hole that the 6.2 piece has, or you could just leave that piece off.   This piece has foam around its circumference to seal the air box against the fender.   If you leave the piece off, I'd recommend getting some foam to insulate the hot engine air from getting into the intake box.
