Ranch Hand Front Bumper Replacement

Any one know how much further than the stock front bumper the ranch hand front bumper replacement would stick out? I have 9in to spare right now in my garage and am wondering if it'll fit. Was quoted a price of $899 for it from the factory outlet store here in San Antonio. Also looking to get some nerf bars to help cover up that ugly frame, any ideas? Lastly a spray in bedliner. Have searched the forum for info, not much, but am leaning toward line-x. My brother has this on his truck and he likes it. Local shop here in town is running a special this week, $349 (under bed rail) and $429 (over bed rail).

I'll try to get a measurement later on today for you. Take a look at my pics, there is a side shot of the bumper , it might help.

Are you in San Antonio?

Who was running the special on the Line-x?

It's gotta be more than 9 inches. If not, it's pretty close. Mine has a tow hitch that extends a few more inches than the bumper itself: See My Sierra. Maybe you could take the back bumper off to offset the addition to the front, or maybe if you wash and dry your truck enough times it will shrink a little :jester:

03HDINTEX, yes I live in San Antonio. I called Line-X of San Antonio, I was quoted a price of $389 for under the rail, and $464 for over the rail. Next I called River City Line-X with there special (which I think is around $30 cheaper than normal) $349 UTR, and $429 OTR. "Murry" said the special runs through Friday. My sales person at the dealership said they'd do the OTR for $449.

Hey mmayo, thanks for the info. on the Line-x.

I just measured from the most forward part of the truck (where it comes to a point) just below the bowtie and I got roughly 11" out to the reciever hitch. and I think the uprights may stick out just a tab bit further than that.

Hope this helps. :jester::seeya:

So I think this is telling me that it will barely fit. Measuring my stock bumper the same way you did is 3.25" So if your ranch hand is 11" this should give me about an inch to spare!!! :jester::seeya::seeya:

Yeah it was 11" to the hitch, but like I said, the uprights do stick out a little more (tough to get a good measurement of the difference w/o putting it up against something flat), if you look at my 2nd pic you can see the uprights are pretty even in the pic and you can't see the hitch from the side.

So I would say that inch would not be enough to say it is gonna work( I think I would want a little more than that to play with), not when you're spending close to $1K on the bumper. :jester::seeya:

Just shave some sheetrock, and trim some studs :seeya: Will give you that extra inch that we all need. :jester:

That should do the trick....Heck, you probably will wind up bumping the sheetrock at least twice a week anyway.

It actually wont be hitting sheetrock, but some wooden steps (like from a deck). My garage is 4 feet lower than the rest of my house. I know that I can make it work, I was just wondering how much trouble it was going to be. When we built this house I had the builder trim the steps back about a foot, I knew I wanted a truck this size and wanted to be able to park it in the garage. 03hdintex says its 9" give or take, I think I'll take the risk. If I need to do a little :jester: oh well! :seeya:

The TC is more of a bumper guard.  The Ranchhand is a complete bumper.

The ToughCountry looks very good. They have some designs that I wish RanchHand would incorporate into their products.

I am not sure what you are talking about MarkD, they look like they offer the same brushguards and bumper replacements that RanchHand makes.

I like the fact that (it appears) the ToughCountry allows you to retain your factory foglights......I'm not sure what I could do with mine if I go with the RanchHand. One thing I like about the RanchHand is that they've redisigned their bumper for the 03 HD's, where ToughCountry seems to use the same design from the previous year.
