Conversion to LED Tail lights

I hope i placed this inquiry for assistance in the correct location.  My factory tail lights have now gotten filled with what looks like water.  Push on the lens and it looks like water moving around under the lens.  With this said i am wanting to convert to LED tail lights and 3rd brake light if they suddenly go haywire.  So what are the best options out there as i see so many different brands and prices.

Are the lights painted over and peel off as some have told me.  Looking for plug and play so I don't have to hack up wires etc..  Looking at LED back up lights as well.

What can the wise forum help me with.

It's a slightly different year from your trucks but this post I did a while back might help:

I included links to the stuff I used in that thread - I'm guessing you need a different bulb but they have several different sizes/types available.  If you go the route I did, you WILL need to splice the resistors in to make the LEDs work for the turn signals but it's a very simple process.  I know some other folks around here have used LEDs with built in resistance for use with incandescent light housings.  I suspect they will chime in soon.  I'm not very familiar with those.

I'm very happy with the set up I have so far and haven't had any issues with the bulbs or resistors so far.

Good luck!
