2003 2500HD Sierra: Lowering the rear

Howdy,

New to this forum and have traded my 2001 1500 Sierra 5.3 for a 2003 Ext cab, 2WD Short box Duramax \ Allison.

I tow a small 5th wheel, and the rear sits mighty high. I want to drop the rear so I have 1 to 2 inches of rake front to rear.

It looks like an easy modification; extending the rear spring shackles. Anyone done this yet? Where can I locate a donor set to cut?

No need to modify them, you can buy longer ones for ~ $50. Most are 4inches longer which allows for a 2inch drop. Buy a Bell Tech set for a Suburban to get a 1.5inch drop.
