L5p to Lml hood swap

Just wondering do you all think it would be easy to swap a L5p hood onto a 16 lml truck and use the hood scoop to not bring air into the air box but to just bring air in under the hood to aid in keeping Temps down?

Do you think the massive front grill is not bringing in enough air and the L5P small hood scoop will fix it?
Every little bit would help towing at max load cross country don't you think? Especially if it's unobstructed air that doesn't have to pass through trans coolers, oil coolers, and ohh not to mention that huge 210 degree radiator?

The hood scoop only adds intake air.  That's it.  And if it freezes up on an L5P, it bypasses to the fender inlet anyway.  The passenger fender has been the air inlet to the air box for atleast 10 years now anyway.  Works fine.

If you feel like a couple grand of hood and intake swapping is worth it, go for it, but you aren't missing much for the LML.  L5P has different requirements than LML.

I know I'd obviously have to remove the air duct to achieve what I want it to do and I'm pretty sure most of us agree the the new hood looks better than the lml hood however I'm not willing to surrender a deleted lml until somebody can figure out how to delete a l5p.

Google L5p hood swap. There is a Duramax diesel forum with more info on the swap.

Air won't go into the radiator though, just cause a bunch of air turbulence under the hood.
