i just bought a 1992 chevy blazer 4x4 wiht a 350 in it. the interior is spot less it has a little rust on the back end. but my reall questions are? my windshield wipers only work when they want to. i taped them and they worked for awhile but the next time i turned them off they didnt turn back on. so now i have to tap the motor to get them to work. is this motor going out and if so how much do they run. next question i have the pop up window in the back and the latch button in the front will unlock it it will just not pop open so it takes 2 people to open the back door. i dont know if it is related but the back door lock doesnt work the key just spins. and the door has to be convinced to open with alittle bit of jarring. next, i have gas leaking out the back of the truck. now that it is dont a bit it doesnt leak but the outside of the tank still looks wet. i poured some fuel injector cleaner in the tanks in my drive way which is on a slight incline and when i left i noticed that all the cleaner was pourd out all over the road. has anyone had this problem before. the gas gauge also jumps around alot one day i will have a half a tank and other days i have a full tank. my oil pressure gauge also jumps. has anyone experienced this. well please help me i am working on a tight budget because the truck wiped out my savings.

:D How to repair GM intermittent wipers, before starting pull the wiper fuse or disconnect the battery.Disconnect the electrical plug from the motor, remove the screws holding module to the motor assembly.Remove the module from the motor assy, you may have to pry it loose with a flat blade screwdriver where it plugs into the motor. Now where the plug attaches to the circuit board there are 5 soldered pins,if you look with a magnifying glass you will see the cracked solder,I resolder all five pins.Use a large enough solder gun to get a good melt,I also add some fresh solder with some electrical flux.Reverse assy.

The gauges jumping around is usually indicative of an electrical problem. I would start with the battery cables.

Mine was doing the same thing, and the cables looked fine. I took it off, and the inside of it was just a crumbling, corroded mess inside.

I would start there for the gauges.

The wiper moter is a common failure, and Joe4 gave a good explaination for the fix.

As far as the rear hatch goes...Sounds like you need a whole new locking mechanism. If the servo is clicking, and it's still not opening, AND the lock is just spinning, I would suggest getting an entire new assembly.

Just my .02

thanks for the windshield wiper repair i will try that this weekend as for the back hatch. the soelnoid will pop and the window will open but some one has to pull it when the latch is pulled, the window wont POP. i took it apart to look at the key assembly and it was nice a nd rusted. the pin that hookes up to the latch was off so i pput it back on. this would let the key open the window but it would not put the latch in the right spot whenyou would trun the key to pull it out. this caused the latch to be in the open postion so the window will not latch close. if i need to get the ass. where do i begin to look and how much is it going to be. thanks alot
