8 foot pickup box

My 2007 Sierra Classic Duramax is stating to look like an 11 year old Michigan truck, so I was thinking of a new one and don't really need the 2500 diesel, so I considered a 1500 but can not get an 8 foot box in any of the longer cab models.   I want a TRUCK, with a 6 1/2 box I can't close the tailgate on my quad or a sheet of plywood.   Anyone else feel like I do - Let GM know we need a real box in a 1500.    Anyway, I couldn't bring myself to drive a F*&d, or a Fiat, so I ordered a new 2500HD crew cab Duramax.   Screw practical.
