Silverado with Sierra Skid Plate?

So i've been thinking of removing the front Air Dam on my 2016 Silverado Midnight Edition Z71 , but not really feeling how it looks with it removed in these  Picture  Picture 2  it looks like something is missing since the whole center piece is attached. 

 

The Sierra looks so much better with the Air Dam removed as in the links below.  I was thinking of trying to retrofit the Sierra plastic Skid Plate. The biggest problem i see is the sides of the Silverado are a continuous angle; While the Sierra  changes angles and goes straight down after part of the angle.

Why not just trim the air dam?  I did that to my Sierra.
