First year for 3rd door?

Hey all,

 

What year did GM first start putting the 3rd door on the extended cab trucks? Was it 1998 or 1999? Or, something completely different?

Im almost certain it was 96

i had a 97 w/ the third door and the backseat that made people cry

Thank you everyone. That's exactly what I needed to know. Now as I look at used trucks I'll stretch my looking to '96. My wife won't tolerate an extended cab without the door.

I had a 94 S-10 with the 3rd door. Not sure about the full size.

It was 96. Had it as an option in my Z71.

It was a midyear option release.
