Motorcycle is repaired

Some of you might remeber me telling you about a late fall motorcycle ride my friend and I went on last year.  About 20 miles from home my friend went into a left hand corner and crashed while I was behind him.  It appeared that a refuse truck or a dump truck blew a hydraulic line right in the middle of the corner.

His bike is a '99 Honda VFR that was original Red.  He ordered European Spec metallic black plastic and a new tank along with all the other parts he needed.  The frame was also damaged but repairable.  There was aboput $4500 in damage to the  bike, but he did all the work himself over the winter and ordered all the parts from Canada.  The wheels used to be painted black originally, but he stripped them down to bare aluminum.

You won't see another black VFR in the states unless you are very lucky.  Honda won't sell this color in the USA.

Cool looking ride....I think I am going to bite the bullet this summer and get back into riding.  Nice to see others with the same interests here

My friend saved about $1500 by doing the work and ordering the parts himself.  He had the bike fully dissassembled over the winter.  By looking at it you'd never know it had almost 20K on the odometer.
