Tire/Level Suggestions?

LT tires do have more rubber and larger steel in the belts, but they have the same number of plies as a P-matric. Back in the days of Bias ply tires the truck tires used the play rating for higher load range, but today's radials are all 2 play bodys and 2 steel belts.

Quick, you had better give Nitto a call and tell them they're molding false info on their tires:

In addition to the durability, LT tires can significantly reduce the squirmieness, sway and bouncing while towing.  Just because the P-rated tires are rated to barely handle the max load doesn't mean they do it well.

Yes some MT tires have 3 plies for marketing. The third is not really necessary for the load they are rated to carry. Some manufacturers put the third ply in because they know people will eat it up like catnip.
