Im sure glad I bought an 02

My friend just purchased an 03 silverado d-max. I have to say the only thing that impressed me at all was the drivetrain. That front end has got to go. Also the truck sat just as high in the front as my Z71. No offense to you 03 guys as this is only my personal opinion. The ONLY purpose to this post is that Im so glad I bought the last 02 Z71 on the lot.

None taken! Everyone has their own opinion.

I love my 03 and think they look good IMO!

BTW - I love the 02 body style just as much!

The '03s have grown on me, still some combinations out there on an '03 that look pretty bad. I wont be tradin my '02 on one anytime soon but they dont look too bad!

I thought the same thing at first and preferred the 99 - 02 style better, but now it has really grown on me and I like it! I still really like the 99-02 style as well a my 03! It took almost a year before I started liking them.

The 03 2500HD D/A is a beautiful thing. Im glad we didnt get the 02.

I have to say tht on the whole -- and considering looks only -- I prefer the 99-02 models better. The fronts of the 03s don't look as good in my opinion -- except maybe on the HD models (the 1500 HD is starting to grow on me, but I still don't like the look of the 2wds). I REALLY like the look of the 02 and prior HDs.

However, I'm thinking more and more about getting a diesel when I buy my next truck. Either way - a GM-made truck is the only way I'd go.

I'll have to disagree with the first post... I really like my 03. I just picked it up yesterday and I think it's awesome. Granted like the rest of you, I was not impressed with the front end when I first saw it a couple years ago at the Auto Show up in Chicago, but it has reeeally grown on me.

I had a 99 (new body style) Z71 before and the improvements between then and the 03 have blown me away. The ride alone was like going from a Cavalier to a Cadillac. There is a huge difference in the suspension and road noise. I went with an LT and I'm enjoying all the features. You can never get enough buttons in the cab... haha.

I think if your friend put 285's on his new Duramax, it would improve the looks of it greatly. A buddy of mine put 285's on his 02 Duramax Crewcab and it looks like truck now. I wish GM would start giving customers the option between 245's, 265's and 285's.

I had never owned a new pickup until I was at my Chevy dealer on company business and saw the new 2003 Silverado SS, now I'm the proud owner of a Beautiful Black SS! The looks of it is what made me buy it, of course "345 American Made Horsepower" helped too!

I agree. The looks are about fourth on my list. IMO, there are more important things in a truck than the looks.
