2005 GMC Sierra 4.3 v6 over heating issues

Yep, the cooling issues are definitely resolved. The "severe duty" clutch fan works very well. Roars pretty loud when its hot out, especially with the A/C on. One electric fan is set to automatically kick on around 200F. The other fan is set to automatically kick on around 210F. Plus both fans are wired into a toggle switch on the dash, so that I can manually turn them on if I want. You can also install an aftermarket oil cooler. It installs very easily. Takes about 15 minutes. One part goes between your oil filter and the engine block, and the mini radiator just zip-ties to your main radiator.

I’m also buying a 2008 GMC 1500 w/t with the 4.3 and the hvac company’s owner who drove the vehicle said it shuts off randomly on him while driving and has to put it in park and starts fine again. Low mileage like 50k. What might i be getting into?

1,000$ The owner said it could be the torque converter but he said another guy told him that. 2 of my trucks came from this guy so far, both been good trucks. Thats the 05 GM i posted about and the 07 Chevy i said a little about. My dad will  drive it home since he knows sounds/noises in a truck better than me and would be able to have a decent idea on it

Its hard to go wrong with that price. I'm looking for an engine for the same truck, and the best I have been able to find is about $1,800 so far.

I'm not sure why the torque converter would cause the truck to shut off, but anything is possible I guess.

Could be a lot of things. Maybe a fuel pump, or an electrical issue. You will just have to check the engine codes, and diagnose the problem.
