Noise in Dash Area

I have a 2006 Silverado that there is a clicking noise started from the dash area. Sounds come and go. Coming from what i can tell behind the tach area. Push and hold all the plastic in the area as driving and no difference. Drives me nuts. All the gauges and tach seem to work fine with no issues. Seems to be mostly when cold when noise 1st started. now more often even when warmer. Will listen more but may be only when driving and something loose? take off dash trim and then drive maybe?

Is something stating to go haywire? I know limited info but maybe the limited info will spark ideas from someone who may have had an issue like this.

Adjust HVAC output direction and temp to see if the noise goes away. If so, then you have mode/temp door motor problem (stripped gear)

HVAC no matter the direction it still there.

Check the air intake in front of the windshield to see if something has gotten through the screen and is wedged in.

Well nothing there in the air intake area. Noise is nt there when sitting and running. only when driving. comes and goes. Like i said only sounds when driving. Comes and goes and all gauges and such work. This came to mind. Do the speedo or tach have cables tht may need to be lubricated? Just shooting in the dark.

Also, wind noise right rear window area of the cab. Suggestions to quit that noise.

little late on this post but do you have heated seats? Look at your door controls and see if they are flashing. My heated seats are disconnected so im assuming bad. Had a clicking behind dash and did not figure it out until driving one night and the clicking was in sequence with the flashing lights on the door control. Im assuming the seats were calling for heat..

Well finally went to get the noise checked out. Took wife to get her new 2016 (7312 Miles) GMC Canyon since she doesn't like to drive the larger Silverado lol. Anyhow turned in the truck to have the dealer take a look.

The diagnosis was to intermediate steering shaft and lower steering bearing are dry and starting to make noise. So when cold louder and when things warm up noise goes away. With time the noise will get louder and more frequent.

So does this make sense and sound like right diagnosis? They want 600 to replace the parts.

Well the intermediate steering shaft was rusted frozen with no movement at all. So replaced the shaft and noise gone. Nothing wrong with bearing but replaced

it since there. And no didnt go to dealer to get zapped. My buddy took care of it. Got the parts at local AC Delco distributor. 300 less that turning in.

So noise in dash is gone. Now if i could get the wind noise from passenger rear area taken care of i would be golden
