Paint/dye interior headliner buttons

Haven't been able to find any information on this. I am planning out the next series of things I'd like to do to my truck and am thinking about a flag or other custom headliner. I came across the idea on instagram I think but I thought it would look sweet with a black/grey american flag headliner or perhaps some kryptek or flat black. Undecided on the specifics at the moment. One thing I want to make sure of though is that I do my buttons and trim pieces as well. Most of it is pretty simple as I'd imagine I can use automotive interior paint or dye to change the color to black. The part I'm uncertain about is the buttons with led lights in them. The dome lights for example. How can I change their color to black while still retaining the icon and light in them? Has anyone done this or have ideas? Open to purchasing new buttons as well but I haven't seen any black silverado/sierra interior headliners.
