Making a wish list

I am a newbie and I need the BEST performance products for my ride

1999 Chevy Tahoe 5.7L

Intake- Have the K&N FIPK

Exhaust- planned on Magnaflow 3" casue it is the best flowing

headers- The Other Guys cause they have a thicker flange

pulleys- March

Granatelli MAS

ECU- undecided unless Westers makes one for me

maybe a stroker kit if it is made for my ride

then way down the road a Magnachrger

If you have better options or suggestions please let me know before I make a less wise decision for a worse performing product.

Sounds like you've selected some great parts. I would pass on the Gran MAS. Not needed. The Westers will take care of everything fuel related.

Like they said, skip the MAS. Its a waste. Skip the pulleys too. You want see a very large gain with them, they are a pain to install, and they slow down your accessories.

A good start is a catback system, headers (TOGs seem to be really good, but I've never had any first-hand experience with them), and computer tuning.

Skip little stuff like the electronic B&M shift improver plus shift kit or whatever it is, incase your considering that. It doesn't do squat to help performance.

Personally I think a lot of throttle body spacers are a joke too. Most of the manufactures claims of "15hp, 20tq" and "better fuel economy" are a bunch of bunk. You might be lucky to gain 5hp.

Other than aftermarket parts, a lot of people leave the stock plugs and wires in their trucks, and those could stand to be replaced a lot of times. If you haven't changed your fuel filter in a while either, thats worth replacing as well.

Good luck

Well, thanks for the input, and I talked to the guy at Westers today and he said they do make a PCM for the 99 5.7L so I am getting that also.

What about the GM Fast Burn heads? Are they any better then my Vortec heads and will they een match up with my intake manifold even though it is a FI system?
