Dieseling Sound

Hey all , Has anyone ever expedience a dieseling   sound on a Gas V8 under load (towing) or start acceleration  ?

i have a 2016 Silverado 1500 Lt, With the 5.3L ,  when it is warm out  over 89 degrees ambient temperature outside, i get a slight dieseling sound from the engine. i will be descriptive as possible.

it sounds like  fuel detonation:  so i used 93 octane to see i can correct the issue,  it helps but not totally still happening  i only purchace top tier fuels.

the warmer it gets the more prevalent

it is not a consistent  sound, it happens under initial acceleration sometimes and only on hot days with or without a load

vehicle was purchased new and only has 30k miles on it,  never  noticed it until i started pulling the boat. i have the towing package, and am well within the towing capability and limits of the vehicle

dealer can not recreate the sound

My brain is starting to knock!!!  arrrrrr

Thanks for any help!!!

The knock sensors will prevent damage. I have a 6.2, these engines make a lot of noise compared to last gen. Product of direct injection and lighter oil.

If your dealer wont do anything and your still concerned take it to a tuner and get him to see if/when its knocking.

How much fuel was still in the tank when you put premium in?  If it was still relatively full, you may not have raised the net mixed octane level enough.  If it was nearly empty, you may not have really gotten good fuel or you may have a carbon build up issue effectively raising the compression ratio. Try another tank of premium from a different station, if that doesn't work, try some BG44K.
