Keep exhaust flapper or not

Hey guys. Just bought a 18 Sierra 6.2, it's too quiet. I have a Borla pro-xs on my 5.3 yukon and love it. But they dont make that muffler in a 3.5".

So looking to put a Borla XR-1 40086 installed next week. Gonna swap mufflers and delete the resonator, and a new 4-5" tip. So my question is do I keep the flapper or not. Looks like the flapper is 3" in and 3.5 out. No tune yet. Will probably be a while before I do a tune.

Thanks!

I have read some have a "chopper" sound, and others dont. Some have AFM disabled, others dont. Lol what's the consensus on the flapper.

I removed it did a magnaflow cat back but it had the chopper in v4 so I bought a tune and turned AFM off.

If you disable afm. Delete the flapper.  If not keep the flapper

I was toying with cutting the flapper off and having it welded in front of the magnaflow muffler and have the computer reset/ flashed back to factory. I’m not sure if turning AFM off messed with the trans somehow cause it shifts like shite lolol.

Ok well I will keep the flapper then. Whenever I get around to doing a tune, I'll just go back and have it chopped out and weld a pipe in its place.

Thanks alot! Cant wait to hear this thing make some sound!

I have a stock 18 denali 6.2. It was too quiet for me so I got under the truck and turned the flapper open by hand and put a hose clamp around the spring and tightened it while in the open position to hold it that way. It's still not very loud but it has a little but of sound to the stock exhaust now.
