Definitely get them replaced under warranty.  Are they OEM?  I ask because my dealer put non-oem on my truck prior to purchase.  They have covered them under warranty twice for lifting step pads.  I had oem on my last truck and they maintained their finish for my six years of ownership.  Don't be pissed, warranties are for anomalies like this.

Dealer I use has replaced many of the square rectangular OEM boards for corrosion issues.

We had a set replaced on a 1500. 

 

Was in for something else and asked if they were having trouble with them -- they a had a quick look and said they'd be replaced.
