black radio screen

I have a 2017 Silverado I bought new, Sunday my Radio Screen went black. Funny thing is rear camera and screen works fine. Radio works fine.

Under speedometer radio screen works fine. But in center of dash, radio screen is black., except for rear camera. Anyone else had this problem?

I did the first and second day I had my 2017.

 

Called Onstar and they did a reset the first day. That fixed it.  The second day it happened for 10 minutes and I took it to dealer. They could not duplicate. Has not happened since.

the HMI could be bad. we have had numerous customers that had hmis die on them. although not many 2017 modules.

 

did the radio reset its self and come back on? or did the screen go black and stay black?

 

if you cycle the ignition key does the screen come back on?

This happened last Sunday. The screen went completely black. I didn’t drive the truck for a couple of days. Then I went out to drive it to work and the screen was half on, then it went out again. It also works just fine with the rear camera. I have a thought, I was playing a flash drive with music when the screen went black the first time. Since then I have only been playing the radio. Could the flash drive have given the radio a virus somehow??? I am going to the dealer Saturday morning I will tell them what you said. If you have anything else keep me informed.

you still have the factory warrenty correct? if it works fine with the rear view camera, chances are the actual screen is good. i have my suspicions on the HMI module. have your dealer flash the latest calibration files into the k74 HMI module, and the a11 Radio module. keep me posted.

When this happened to mine twice it was a connection on the HMI rattled loose. I had been off-road a good bit both times. The second time I put a dot of super glue on all of the HMI connectors.
