Is this electrical, the anti-theft system or both?

2004 Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Diesel

With no previous indications of a problem, my truck refuses to start or even turn over. I put the key switch in prestart to heat up the glow plugs. The light comes on but it never goes off and its very dim. I advance the key to hit the start and you can hear a click like the starter solenoid is engaging but its hard to say for sure that its, it could be some other relay. Then the light show begins. The almost very light on the dash cluster starts blinking and there is an audible buzz coming on an off in tune with the lights.

Any thoughts on how to recover from this?

Maybe its easier to explain if you see the video - - >

is there an after market alarm on the vehicle? i would start off with checking battery voltage. maybe a weak battery. seems like an alarm is activating but never seen the whole dash light up like that. i have seen vehicles act weird when they have low voltage.

There is no alarm I am aware of but I am not the first owner. I was thinking low voltage or a bad ground someplace but I'm not even sure where to begin. Both batteries are fully charged . I don't know, right now I'm screwed, I need the truck, I can't get it into my garage without power and its supposed to be a 107 degrees today.

Have your battery and connections checked. It's probably corroded clamps on the terminal. Could be something else though. You may have good voltage showing, but a bad connection will cause this because the voltage will drop if the amps can't flow.

Never seen one do that. But I have limited experience with Dura max, I noticed in the video -9 volts per your gauge. Make absolutely sure the batteries are fully charged and terminals are cleaned. Also noticed the "Passlock" light flashing with the alarm sound, try unhooking both batteries at the same time for 30 mins, then with the key off reconnect the batteries wait 5 minutes or more to turn key to "run" position and wait 30 min. turn key off then try to start. that is the only procedure I've found to reset the Passlock. but Ihave never tried on a duramax, so just an idea.

Everyone replying is correct. I've seen this happen before with low charge/ almost dead batteries. You need to find the bad connection if your batteries are fully charged.
