Driving 2002 Yukon XL 2500 with ABS module removed?

My 02 Yukon XL 2500 needs the ABS module repaired, this is my daily driver. Like the title says, can you drive the truck normally with the module removed? Obviously with the connectors and ABS unit covered to keep dirt/water out. I understand I will not have ABS but the brakes will function normally. Just need to know if driving with the unit unplugged will cause other issues.

Cool, I'll just delete this post then...seems like a warning like this should be posted to every post on here especially those telling others to pull the ABS fuse or made modifications to their vehicles in general.  Everything needs a disclaimer these days.

I drive my 1999 silverado every day with abs power connection unplugged underneath cab. Brake and ABS lights are turned on the dash, but brakes operate exactly like my 1990 k1500. When it is plugged in, the abs motor runs constantly.

Sounds like you have the same issue I was having. Chances are your ABS Module is in need of repair.

I followed this guy's instructions just last night and was able to fix mine myself without taking it out of commission for a week. The only thing I did differently was I put a dab of thermal grease at each of the grease points on the circuit board before reassembling the module and I also put dielectric grease on each of the 3 wire connections.  Works like a champ and no more dash lights.  I even locked up the brakes on ice to ensure the ABS functioned normally and didn't set the lights off again.
