2011 Suburban Z71 Starting issue

Im having an issue with my 2011 Suburban z71. When turning the key, it wont start, just consistent slow clicking noise. All lights, blowers, everything on when key is in the on position. Also while turning the key, I get service stabilitrac and traction control messages. Funny thing is that if I shift it out of park, and then back in to park, it then starts. Any thoughts, or ideas? Thanks in advance.

Neutral safety switch possibly. If you are not in park or neutral, when turning the key, power does not go to starter to start engine. The current flow is interrupt due to the bad safety switch contacts.

Neutral start safety switch mounted the transmission.

Okay. Thank you for the information. Is the switch inside the transmission, or mounted on outside?

Outside, driver side. Cable from the shift lever as well as wiring harness are connected. The shift lever moves a connector around and sometimes gets out of alignment
