I found some TSB's that might have the answere to my problem with the Clunk.

Transfer Case - Bump/Clunk Accelerating From a Stop 86-74-03 10/01/98

Transfer Case - Bump/Clunk On Acceleration 99-04-21-004 08/01/99

Driveline - Clunk 99-04-20-002 12/01/99

Transfer Case - Bump/Clunk Update 99-04-21-004A 09/01/01

Do any of these involve my truck?

99-04-20-002A - Useless TSB - basically tells the dealer to do nothing cancels 99-04-20-002.

99-04-21-004A - Again useless - tells dealer not to do 99-04-21-004 anymore.

Don't have access to 86-74-03 10/01/98 and the others relating to bump/clunk I do have access to aren't applicable to your vehicle.

Those are related to the slip yoke. If you have this problem and want to confirm it, remove your drive shaft and fill the slip yoke 1/2 full with grease and put back in. If the bump/clunk goes away it is the slip yoke. The grease thing was GM's temporary fix. GM has come out with 2 different nickel plated slip yokes part #'s are 12477702 and 12477704. You'll have to check with your dealer on which one is for your vehicle. You will need the model # off the top right hand corner of the RPO label on your glove box door. This place has them for about $75 cheaper than your dealer will.
