A couple lighting questions

Just picked up my new to me 2015 Silverado. Biggest thing I want to do is be able to use the bed lights while in gear and I’ve seen a thread somewhere a quick way to do it but after searches all I find is people arguing why they need to do it. Hoping for info on this if anybody has done it. Also, I am considering tapping into these for 2 small bumper leds and I’m curious if the system can handle the extra 2 small lights. I appreciate any info and please no bs “why do u need to do it” posts. Thanks!!

I don't know about using them while in gear but as for the bumper lights - no problem.  I tapped into the factory bed light circuit and added LED lights in each bumper step.  No problems at all and the bumper steps light up when I have the bed lights and cargo light on.  This all works off the factory switch located below the HVAC controls.
