Steaks

Since diguout posted a culinary question, I thought I would ask how well done you guys preffer your meat, steaks in particular.  I work at a local steakhouse and it really agravates me when someone orders a Porterhouse (?.95) or a filet (?.95) and then proceded to order it well done.  I know it's their money, but D**n!  why not just chew on your shoe?!?  I personally like mine somewhere betwee medium and med. rare, so long as it's not still mooing!

I prefer mine on charcoal and not on the gas grill...  the only time I use the gas grill is if I don't have time to light the charcoal and drink a beer!!!

Medium Well.  After getting sick a few times from eating it rare to medium, it gets kind of old.  LOL

 I'm in total agreement with Kania.  People ordering Prime Rib or filets well done, I don't get it?!  They'll eat it and then say, "It's a little dry...."  One thing I have learned after 13 years in the restaurant biz, most people order by price or familiarity.  They are scared of something new and most don't know "how to eat."  Scarf, scarf, scarf, pay the bill and leave.  No savoring of the experience.  Whatever......

I used to order it Well done when I was Little.

Now I go w/ Medium or Medium Rare.

I try to get the Center cut stuff wherever I go cause mom yells at me when I eat the fat. LOL

I like it cooked so that you are able to slap it back on the cow and have the cow recoperate.  Thats pretty rare.

I like it to moo and squirm when I put my fork in it!  Throw it on the grill long enough for the grill marks to form to make it look good, but no longer.  Once the center gets beyond warm, the flavor starts cooking out.

Medium Well for me. I like to sear the outside and have it a little pink inside.

Rare to medium rare. The better the cut the rarer I like it.

medium well here, also.  A little better than whacking its horns off, slapping it on the butt and chuncking it on the plate.   Another name for well done is beef jerky!!! LOL

Either rare or medium rare depending on how I feel that day.  I'm kind of like Friz, in that I don't really want mine to be cold.
