Front Camera Issues. Anyone have this issue yet?

I have a 2017 Silverado and about 11 months ago I had a front camera installed. BEST UPGRADE for me!!!! Yesterday I went to use it and the screen was black and glitching like it was loose connection. I shut the truck off and turned it back on and it worked again normally. Today the same thing happened and I shut off the truck and turned it back on and it worked normally again. Has anyone experienced this? I haven’t touched anything at all as far as wiring and nothing has been touched inside the engine bay either. What should I do or check?

Interested to know more about this upgrade , can you please share the part details and how did you hook the camera to the grille ?

Truthfully, I’m not sure. I had this installed by the dealership. I had to buy the camera and the intellihaul module that goes in behind the screen and all hooks up to work. They installed it all and gave me a warranty too

There’s a thread somewhere about the intellihaul camera by echo master. It’s my next mod.

Thank you , I was always wondering how come the Denali does not have a front camera like the f150 platinum ! Anyway do you know if this works on the screen ( infotainment ) , does it need additional module ?

I would agree for the Denali. I’m definitely installing this as well.  It seems pretty straightforward. The only tricky part is routing the main wire from the camera.

This page has the installation guide to give you an idea.

I checked with the local dealer here for your issue , the said as a start , you need to unplug the battery for like 5 minutes and hook it again , according to them most likely will solve your issue

You’re very welcome. If I get it installed sooner than later, I’ll be sure to post pics.

So I did the battery trick and left it off for 5 min and it still is giving me an issue so I gotta take the truck in now. They don’t know yet if it’s the camera or module and what’s funny is, this has been exactly a year since the installation. Irritating that it goes bad and has issues in 1 year.....I’ll keep you updated

The camera only seems to work for about 15 to 20 min then goes out until I unplug it and plug it back in or shut the truck off and turn it back on....I called Echomaster and one of the techs said sometimes the cameras go bad but I explained everything to him and he said it sounds like it’s the camera. He also mentioned that heat can affect it also (where it connects to the harness) the little connector sits above the driver headlight but I’ve had this for a year and never experienced this issue until now. Anyways, it’s got a 3 year warranty so if it’s bad, they’ll replace everything

Love the idea of a front camera. It’s nice to know you can add it but why not have it direct from the factory?
